Joy Kalajainen Johnson has been journaling and writing poetry since she was a teenager and has always enjoyed photography. When she was faced with loss and the unexpected, she began her own journey of healing. Learning how others found the strength and courage to go on following a difficult loss inspired her. In Inspired by Loss, Joy combines her artistic passions, her personal experience with loss and the stories that inspired her to create this comforting treasure.  An executive with 20+ years professional experience in process improvement and project management, she resides with her husband, George, and daughter, Kallee, in Central Pennsylvania and is a coordinator and volunteer for charity fundraisers.

George Johnson began writing and performing acoustic music in the late 70’s. Performances over the last 30 years have taken him from churches and garden parties in Paris and Geneva to benefit concerts and singing with Livingston Taylor in Philadelphia. He has performed at private, political and corporate events and fundraisers and weddings.  Inspired greatly by James Taylor, Jackson Browne, and other artists of that era, his genre is a blend of folk, country and ballads. He is on the board of the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania and leads an annual fundraiser called ‘Kidney Rock’ where he and other artists perform.  George works as a sales director in the health insurance industry.
